See the world and go global with AFS!

The AFS Intercultural Program Philippines (AFS IPP) invites students, educators, young professionals, and adults to a Global Citizenship Education Forum on August 25, 2017 (9:00-am-5:00pm) at the Institute of Biology Auditorium, University of the Philippines Diliman Campus.

The forum supports the global citizenship education movement through encouraging collaboration among advocates, educators, policy makers and others in the integration of intercultural education into national agendas and school curriculums. It also aims to expand the role of young people in leadership and decision-making processes particularly in shaping the educational system of the Philippines, whilst preparing them in an increasingly globalizing environment of employment.

AFS is an international volunteer-based, non-profit, non-governmental, non- religious organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create more just and peaceful world. Every year, AFS Philippines send deserving students, young professionals, teachers and educators, and volunteers to go abroad for a one-of-kind exchange experience. They participate in the following programs: High School & University, Community Service & Internship, Class Exchange & Study, and Educators & Teachers Exchange.

AFS Programs are oriented towards 16 educational objectives, each focused on a different aspect of personal, interpersonal, and community development. These educational goals enable participants to acquire the knowledge and develop the skills that are necessary to succeed in an increasingly globalized society.

AFS Philippines together with the Department of Education (DEPED), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), UNESCO, WhenInManila.com, Uber PH, INQUIRER.NET, Inq Pop, and Mary Grace Café wants you to be inspired to create an action addressing the other realities, culture, and norms on the other side of the world.
