The sky meets the sea when Star Wars and Moana join forces in this musical mashup

What happens when you take the story of Star Wars and put it in the melody of a song in Moana? Moana and Star Wars may be both from Disney but the two films are definitely different from each other. But somehow, someone finally saw the line where the sky (or the galaxy) meets the sea.

In a Tumblr post, someone decided to reimagine Maui’s (Dwayne Johnson) “You’re Welcome” song in the scene where he met Moana, and changed the lyrics to when Luke Skywalker meets Rey in Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

Tumblr user charlesoberonn rewrote the first verse of the song — imagining what would Luke say to Rey after their first meeting in the upcoming Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi.

Another Tumblr user got inspired from the lyrics and drew what the scene would look like when Luke sings his own version of “You’re Welcome” to Rey.

And just when we thought we got the whole picture already, YouTube user OverEnglishMan extended charlesoberonn’s lyrics into a whole song!

It feels like the galaxies and the waves of the seas have joined “forces” and blessed us with a mashup we never thought we needed in our lives. The internet is truly never boring with people who come up with crazy and mind-blowing fan theories and mashups of our favorite films!

Oh, the internet says “You’re welcome” by the way.
