Dreamer and hardcore Foo Fighters fan Fabio Zaffagnini rounded up 1,000 rockers from all over the world to play ‘Learn To Fly,” an iconic Foo Fighters song from 1999 which also won 2000 Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video. The reason? The Foo Fighters have not been in Romagna since 1997, and he thinks it’s time to get them back.

On his website Rockin’ 1000, Zaffagnini detailed out his preparation to organize a thousand musicians to play one of Foo Fighters’ songs all at the same time in the hopes of getting Dave Grohl’s attention. After gaining widespread media coverage the world over, Zaffagnini and his growing team of technicians and artists were finally able to fully realize their plan. On July 2015, 1,000 musicians gathered together at their own expense and performed ‘Learn To Fly.’

On the video, Zaffagnini speaks out to idol Foo Fighters: “We ask you, the Foo Fighters, to come play for us.”

The question now is: What say you, Dave Grohl? Watch the full performance here:
