Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, staying connected with people remains a difficult task. Cross-cultural connection and collaboration within and across countries have also become limited. However, that was no reason for Filipinos and Koreans to cease interactions—either directly through conversations or indirectly through cultural products.
In order to cater the growing passion of Filipinos for Korean Studies and Koreans for Philippine Studies, UP Arirang returns with the second installment of its much-anticipated Philippine-Korean Youth Forum (PKYF)!
Bearing the theme “Bridging Gaps in the Age of Social Distancing,” PKYF aims to connect and encourage collaborations among Filipino and Korean youths through a variety of educational and cultural activities. Running for four Fridays and Saturdays from April 22 until May 14, 2022, PKYF will cover four tracks namely (1) Arts & Media; (2) Culture & Tourism; (3) Economy & Trade; and (4) Governance & Diplomacy.
The forum will conduct three sessions for each track. Keynote lectures will serve as informative talks for valuable insights on specific topics relevant to each track. These lectures will be open to the public. Exclusive to the official delegates, the plenary session will engage the delegates in collaborative discussions with their co-delegates. Finally, the interactive workshops aim to develop the delegates’ cross-cultural understanding through pragmatic approaches.
