Daft Punk social media posts spark reunion rumors, stirs fan base

It was a year ago, February 22nd exactly, when the electronic music duo announced the split up. Daft Punk is one of the most known influential dance and electronic bands of all time that gave birth to songs like ‘Around the World’, ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’, ‘Get Lucky’, ‘One More Time’ to name a few.

After 28 years, the French band called it quits, followed by the release of an eight-minute-long video showing the pair walking in the desert with the infamous futuristic helmets.

But just this week, Daft Punk seems to be back after the two relaunched their social media accounts.

There were two images posted on their Instagram page which sparked excitement and confusion, at the same time, to many fans.

So, are they really back?

Unfortunately, no.

Instead, the duo announced that they have released a digital deluxe edition of debut album “Homework” that features remixes from collaborations with Motorbass, Todd Terry, DJ Sneak, Masters At Work among others.

There will also be vinyl reissues of the album, along with their live album “Alive 1997” that will be released on April 15 which fans can pre-order.

Meanwhile, a never-before-seen set from 1997 at The Mayan in Los Angeles, US, is also going to be available for a one-time-only stream on their Twitch channel.
