A heartfelt journey: Ebe Dancel releases new music video for ‘Huling Unang Sayaw’

The renowned singer-songwriter is set to release the music video for one of his latest singles, “Huling Unang Sayaw” this January 21st, 2022, at 6 PM. The song was released under Widescope Entertainment, of which Dancel is both an artist and A&R manager. He affectionately refers to the single as one of the most enjoyable writing experiences he’s had by far during the pandemic, and the music video shoot was no different. Joined by one of his good friends, Mia Cabalfin showcased her beautiful dance moves in a difficult yet rewarding process of producing the video safely and seamlessly during a pandemic.

Dancel shares that the song’s initial inspiration struck him when he came home from a rainy day run. Where many of us would find the puddles on the streets as an inconvenience, in true artistic fashion, Dancel shares that the line “Isang hakbang patungo sa walang hanggan” came to him as he jumped over them and enjoyed the remnants of the rainy weather. Rico Blanco, industry legend himself and Dancel’s producer, heard the song and immediately felt that the song was going places. Quite literally and figuratively in this case. Accompanied by the formidable duo of Vic de Vera and Neil Gregorio, Dancel has an all-star team supporting him behind the scenes.

The music video is set to release the beautifully blends of Cabalfin’s emotional dance moves barefoot on a beach with Dancel’s incredible lyricism into a certifiable work of art. It registers as both serene and buzzing with the energy of everlasting love. The radio-friendly, mid-tempo tune, along with the visuals, captures the hope and elation that comes when you’re at the beginning of a long road ahead with the person that you love. Hinting at Dancel’s dedication to his craft, there’s certainly more coming from one of the OPM scene’s biggest legends.

As a message to his fans, Dancel had this to share: “I miss you all. I apologize for not being able to respond to all of your messages on social media but just know that I’m patiently waiting for the day to come when I can get back out there to perform for you again. Let’s all do our part and stay disciplined so we can all hopefully see each other soon. Please enjoy these new releases as in these difficult times, I’ve found that songwriting has helped me stay connected to this world. It’s perhaps my own way of reaching out to you.”

Along with the music video’s release, don’t miss out on his virtual performance that same day, January 21st, at 6 PM. The master wordsmith and one of the Philippines’ brightest talents continues to show just how much greatness can come from the most ordinary places, like a walk in the rain.
