Elevate, UP Radio Circle’s annual student journalism workshop, remained versatile amid the adverse challenges in the global media landscape as it held its 10th installment last November 20, 21 and 27.
With the theme “Versatility amid Adversity,” the event centers on how media has adapted and continues to adapt with the current hurdles brought about by the pandemic and other social challenges.
This year, Elevate reinvented itself as a workshop series on the different fields of news, features, science and health, sports journalism, photojournalism, and broadcasting. Among those who conducted these workshops are award-winning photojournalist Jimmy Domingo, veteran broadcaster Raffy Tima, and the VERA Files President Ellen Tordesillas.
This is the 10th installment of Elevate, which originally was a student journalism workshop and competition event for high school students across the country. Since 2020, the event has navigated the online space by reinventing itself as an online student journalism webinar and workshop series.
