remy releases new single ‘everything about me’

Aug 5th, 2021 – Singapore – Lo-fi, pop punk, and alternative genre fusing solo artist remy has dropped his latest single “everything about me”, his third release since joining Hopeless Records in May. Vulnerable and honest, with a low-fi, vibey chorus that pulls on memories of past loves, remy pulls listeners in with his velvety tones. On the new single remy shares, “’everything about me’ is about the feeling that you can’t shake when you’re with someone who doesn’t really fill the hole of who you really want to be with.” Tinged with nostalgia and heartfelt reflection, remy used multiple perspectives to create the song, giving it a more relatable and resonant vibe. When reflecting on what he’d like fans to take away from the song, remy wistfully shares, “I hope people listen to this song and say “I should call them”.”

Based in NYC, remy started his musical career as a producer/writer – writing songs for artists like The Chainsmokers, Olivia Holt, Alexander 23, and more. Frustrated with the monotony of writing straightforward Top 40 songs, and longing to make something genuine and impossible to replicate, remy released his first solo single “useless”. Creatively invigorated, remy dove head-first into creating and writing authentic genre-less songs with pop hooks and hard hitting drums cast in a lo-fi aesthetic.

Inspired by classic emo artists like The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, and Fall Out Boy, remy effortlessly blends lo-fi, bedroom pop, pop punk/emo, and alternative beats into a sound affectionately referred to as “if Drake was in the 1975″. With incredibly picturesque lyrics that are immensely relatable, remy’s Hopeless debut, “i know why you stay out” captures the feeling of melancholy washed in novelty and nostalgia.
