Sincere Engineer release new song and video ‘Recluse in the making’

June 30th, 2021 – Singapore – Sincere Engineer have released another new song and a quirky music video inspired by ‘The Sims’ video game. The track, “Recluse In The Making”, is from the band’s upcoming album ‘Bless My Psyche’ out 10 September 2021 via Hopeless Records. Fans can stream the track here smarturl.it/SERecluse and pre-order the album here: smarturl.it/sincereengineermerch

‘Recluse In The Making’ is about struggling to make life in those few hours after work—motivation fleeting like the sunlight. It’s sort of a reminder to myself to push through the exhaustion and get up and go out. I’m only cheating myself out of precious life time if I don’t,” explains frontperson and songwriter Deanna Belos.

This was one of the music video ideas that I thought of during the year of the pandemic that I could execute by myself,” continues Belos. “I played The Sims a bunch as a kid. I had to stop when I got older and felt a weird sadness about it—spending my real life playing a game that is a computer simulation of my life. It’s still fun, though. I let myself play it guilt-free to make this video, because I could call it work, ha-ha!

Fans can also check out the songs and music videos from the album which are out now – “Come Out For A Spell”, Out of Reach, Trust Me and Tourniquet.

Recorded in their hometown of Chicago, with long-time collaborator/producer, Matt Jordan, ‘Bless My Psyche’ is the follow up to band’s 2017  debut album ‘Rhombithian’, and continues to juxtapose hopeful expectations and the disappointment of reality through wry and witty lyrics and catchy indie punk. “I think my music is relatable and I hope it makes people feel like they’re not alone,” shares singer Deanna Belos, “I do it because it’s fun and I don’t want to do anything else.
