It is another marvelous month for fans as Disney+ series Loki dropped its first episode last June 9. As the series slowly comes together, the actor himself recently shared that he held a “Loki symposium” that lasted for hours.
It was revealed during the Variety Virtual TV Fest in an exclusive Marvel panel which featured stars from the first three Marvel Studios series out on Disney+. The panel was composed of Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen of ‘WandaVision’; ‘The Falcon and the Winter soldier’ stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan; and ‘Loki’ himself, Tom Hiddleston.
During day two of the TV fest, Tom Hiddleston, who plays the god of mischief, shared that he held a multi-hour long lecture for the creative leaders on the set of Loki.
“I said to Kate Herron, our director, ‘Would it be helpful if I gave everybody all the information at the same time?’ And Kate and Kevin Wright, our producer, were like, ‘That’s a brilliant idea.’ Shamefully, it then became a Loki lecture,” said Hiddleston.
Hiddleston also shared that there were a lot of discussions about different things with Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’d get questions from the production team about the changes in costume, and the way Loki uses his knives in one movie and in the other MCU films.
“These films mean so much to so many people and that is a privilege,” he said.
Anthony Mackie and Paul Bettany teased Hiddleston that the lecture lasted for six hours with a red laser pointer and a Q&A. Later on, Sebastian Stan and Elizabeth Olsen jokingly said that they did not get invited as they were filming in the same lot in Atlanta.
Apparently, Hiddleston revealed that there was indeed a white board during his talk.
He also mentioned that when Kevin Feige and Louis d’esposito contacted him around the time when Avengers Infinity War was being released, he was “very excited.”
“They said, ‘Disney is going to create a streaming platform and [we] are very excited to present ideas to them and Loki is one of them’ and I was like ‘Okay’ and then I was excited, but my first question was ‘How do we do that?’,” he shared.
He even added that the first three minutes of Infinity War felt extremely final as that scene was “the biggest secret” he kept from everyone. “I think I’ve adjusted and then Thanos says ‘no resurrections this time,” he said.
Hiddleston was careful not to spill any spoilers as his series had just been aired. Loki is set to have six episodes available on Disney+ every Wednesday.
