The movie stars Australian actresses Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan as the new female leads of the long-running horror franchise.
Evil Dead Rise moves the action out of the woods and into the city, in which it is expected to depict a modern-day urban horror film.
The upcoming fifth installment to the Evil Dead franchise focuses on the twisted tale of the two estranged sisters, whose reunion is interrupted by a wave of supernatural horrors.
The upcoming film, Evil Dead Rise, wouldn’t have any ties to the previous Evil Dead movies.
“The Evil Dead movies filled my brain with terror and awe when I first saw them at nine years old,” Cronin previously said in a statement.
“I am excited and humbled to be resurrecting the most iconic of evil forces for both the fans and a whole new generation,” he added.
The public has also expressed their anticipation to the said movie, as well as requested that the Evil Dead Rise would be released in other streaming services.
looking forward to this one, love this series of movies so much, Just wish it wasn’t being put behind some streaming service wall and given a wider release, it’s hard to get as excited about releases that not too many people will have access to. Hoping EVERYONE gets to see it.
