Despite the adverse effects of the ongoing pandemic, the Philippine electronics industry remains as the country’s top US$ export earner, a significant driver of the Philippine economy and the largest contributor to the country’s manufacturing sector.
In 2020, the industry accounted for US$ 39.67 billion, or 62.2%, of the country’s total commodity exports and employs over 3 million direct and indirect workers. In March 2021, the electronics exports reached US$ 3.90 billion, an increase of 20% from the previous month. This comprises 58.4% of the US$ 6.68 billion total Philippine exports for the month.
The Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines Foundation, Inc.
