Ateneo Mathematics Society’s Sports Week 2021: Carnaval

Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS) has served as the home for math majors and math enthusiasts of Ateneo students for over 58 years. Contrary to the belief that AMS only organizes math-related events, AMS is holding its annual Sports Week on May 3-7, 2021. The event, which is open to all AMS members only, aims to foster teamwork and camaraderie while serving as a bonding experience.

Due to the global pandemic, there will be no physical sports such as Basketball or Volleyball. Instead, participants can play carnival games and esports. While these two cannot substitute the experience from physical sports, rest assured the games prepared will be highly worthwhile.

The carnival includes Secret Hitler, Emoji Quiz, Skribbl.io, Poker, and many more. For each game, the winning participants will receive points, and the person who stands on top of the leaderboard will earn a prize. The esports is the 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) game, Valorant. After each team battles each other once, the team with the highest number of wins will get a cash prize.

For more details, check the Ateneo Mathematics Society 2020-2021 Facebook group. A registration form will be available from Monday, April 26, 2021, until Saturday, May 1, 2021.
