The Kpop star announced that he is leaving to begin his mandatory military service on May 31. “There is more than a month left, so I didn’t really want to spend it, being sad. I wanted to tell you with my own words directly,” said Taemin.

The 27-year old singer has also assured his fans that he has a lot of plans in store before he leaves for his military training and that includes his online solo concert on May 2 and the release of his solo in the same month.

“The album schedule hasn’t been confirmed yet, but I will be able to show one last brilliant performance,” he said. Taemin is also the last member from SHINEE to enlist in the military, as older members Onew, Key, and Minho have already completed their mandatory military service.

SHINEE also recently released their repackaged album ‘Don’t Call Me’ after the group’s first comeback in two years. Aside from SHINEE, Taemin has also been active as a solo artist and as a member of SuperM.
