UPMSS presents Materials Science and Engineering Summit 2021

With the theme, “MatEnvision: Reimagining Materials Science and Engineering in the ‘New Normal,’” the University of the Philippines Materials Science Society will hold the Materials Science and Engineering Summit 2021 on April 10, 17, and 24.

The event has been the flagship event of the organization since 2014, aimed to promote the advancements of materials science and engineering to a greater audience. Since then, it became the country’s premier gathering for MSE enthusiasts where attendees can compete, engage in a series of educational discussions, and introduce the field to high school students.

The summit will kick off with the MSE Symposium, a series of talks that will celebrate Filipino innovators and advancements in the field that made an impact during a global pandemic. It will be followed by a Research Fair, a competition where high school students will present scientific works and projects about MSE.

MatEnvision will feature two new events: the Poster-Making Competition and the Materials Case Quest. The Poster-Making Competition is a digital art contest for artistic scientists. The Materials Case Quest, on the other hand, is a problem-solving competition where participants will provide a solution for a hypothetical problem using MSE concepts.
