These aren’t the cute little winged babies you’re used to seeing. See the angels in their true magnificent stature in the art of Peter Mohrbacher.
Back in 2005, ‘Magic the Gathering’ artist Peter Mohrbacher found himself in the lore of thousands of named angels. Each angel has a unique backstory that most people probably aren’t familiar with. That’s when he began his project called the Angelarium. It is a series of artworks depicting angels in all their majestic, ethereal, and sometimes terrifying glory.
These awe-inspiring designs are much more interesting to look at than the typical muscular guys with wings on their backs. Peter gives us his vision of these angels in a way that will really make us drop our jaws in awe.
For the past few years Peter has gained quite the following, gaining over 392k followers on Instagram – and for good reason. His surreal artworks of the angels just aren’t something you can see anywhere else.
If you like what you see, you can buy prints on Peter Mohrbacher’s website or support him on his Patreon for some wallpaper size resolutions of his work.
