“Some people were saying that this much-loved soup tastes like water with chicken. I think those people need to cook better tinola. Here is how I do it at home,” Erwan Heussaff shared in his Instagram page.
A Filipino soup dish called ‘tinola’ was a local trending topic on Twitter last week because people have been describing it as “Manok na may tubig” or “Chicken Water”.

Filipino-French food blogger Erwan Heussaff joined the thread by sharing his opinion and recipe on his Instagram account. He lists down the ingredients and the step-by-step procedure in cooking his tinola recipe.
Erwan ends his video with a message for the anti-tinola club, “Why anyone would call this chicken water is beyond me.”
Some users shared their opinion as well on the trending topic. Many took the side of Erwan and said it shouldn’t be called chicken water. It really depends on how you cook it.
Tinola is my ultimate favorite chicken dish. I prefer it rather than Adobo and Afritada. You guys sayin it taste like water just dont know how to properly cook it.

i don’t like tinola but i wouldn’t go as far as saying that it’s tasteless and just chicken with water. such a shame that no one in your family cooks well

Erwan said in his caption, “In these times of uncertainty and frustration, over our current situation in the Philippines, focus your energy on what you can change and control. A bowl of soup never hurts either.”
