Tears roll down skateboard legend Tony Hawk’s face as he lands the Ollie 540 for the last time.
The Ollie 540 is a difficult trick, it requires you to do one and a half rotations as you go up a halfpipe. It was a move he first made in 1989, one of the iconic tricks that kickstarted his legendary career.
At 52 years old, Tony Hawk is only finding it more and more difficult to skateboard like he used to.
In the video we can see Tony Hawk break down after multiple failed attempts at trying to perform the trick.
“That definitely was the last one I’ll ever do” he said. Due to dislocated fingers, the spin is harder to do – on top of it all, his body just can’t keep up with the demands of the sport.
Despite this sad end to a legendary trick, people on twitter came out to show their support and reverence to the skateboard superstar
