When Soupstar Music manager, Darwin Hernandez, first heard the raw demo of the song “Di Na Alam”, he found ICA’s voice, lyrics and melody so strong that he knew he had to release it in its acapella version – no need for accompaniment of any musical instruments. Producer Eunice Jorge of Gracenote ensured ICA’s pitch, harmony and timbre were all perfect for the song. With the acapella version, ICA was able to showcase her singing skills and the authenticity in her emotions.
“Di Na Alam” is a song of questions, self-doubt and a continuous plead to be given the strength to push through and see life uncertainties as opportunities to dream and go beyond one’s abilities.
ICA, who wrote and performed the song, says that she was at the lowest point of her life that time. “I felt like a lost and restless child with big dreams but doesn’t know where to begin. No matter how hard I tried to figure things out, I still find myself stuck in the same place. I wanted to reach out for help but I didn’t want to burden anyone.” What she did instead was choose to keep silent and pour out what she was feeling through this song.
ICA is a talented young lady who wanted to be a singer since she was little. She started at church and thought that was all to it. ICA says, “through this new opportunity, I want to be an artist who can inspire, encourage and give comfort to my listeners.
