You may not have realized it, but your pets have actually been taking care of you all year

Pets are intuitive. Those knowing eyes and comforting licks can do wonders and make us feel better when we’re down. Studies have found that dogs and cats can actually recognize human emotions through facial cues, when we are happy or angry, stressed or ill, and including how we will actually react when we find out that our flipflops, toilet papers, and remote control have been chewed off (cue those cute-guilty eyes).  Your pet understands when you are feeling down and even if they aren’t really sure what you exactly feel, they always offer comfort.

With the COVID-19 crisis and the lockdown now on its 9th month, most people are understandably finding life tough and many are finding their pets as a source of solace and distraction. We have been stuck indoors with our pets 24/7 yet amazingly, they are proving to be our lifesavers during these difficult times, as they continue to provide us with companionship, loyalty, and consistency just by their mere presence. Coping with working and learning from home, we have the rare chance to see a different perspective of home, bringing to our attention to how we have been taking care of our pets, and how they have transformed our otherwise bleak daily lives and made everything a little more bearable.

Royal Canin Philippines is dedicated to creating a better and healthier world for all cats and dogs. As 2020 comes to an end, Royal Canin Philippines created this special video entitled “Thank you for Making this Year Better” featuring real pet owners and their pets during lockdown. The video is a genuine act of gratitude to all pet parents who consider their pets as family, and for creating a much better life for them; and for all pets, in turn, for making this year a little better and much easier to bear—proving that after all, love is a ‘four-legged’ word.

It is said that our pets love us more than they do themselves and one of the ways we can repay them for such a selfless, unconditional love is by taking good care of them and rethinking our choices especially when it concerns their health and nutrition. Feeding them high quality tailored diet, like Royal Canin, contributes to their longer lives and reduced risks of health issues that are usually a result of improper nutrition.

To salute responsible fur-parenthood and express gratitude to all pets who have been our only constant in this ever-changing and desperate times, Royal Canin Philippines also recently launched the Royal Canin Club app, downloadable on Google Play, designed to reward both pet owners and Royal Canin business partners. This rewards application is an informative platform for pet care and nutrition, championing accessibility for Filipino pet owners while also giving them the opportunity to win points and claim rewards. /GC
