HBO releases the trailer of a two-part documentary featuring a revealing look at the rise, fall, and epic comeback of global golf icon Tiger Woods. The documentary series shows highlights and never-before-seen footage and interviews from those who know Tiger Woods best.
The documentary includes special interviews of his former caddy and close friend, Steve Williams; golf legend Sir Nick Faldo; his father Earl Woods’ friend and biographer, Pete McDaniel; Tiger’s first true love, Dina Parr; and Rachel Uchitel, the woman at the center of the sex scandal that forever changed Tiger’s world, breaking her silence for the first time.
This documentary looks at that win while also providing an overview of his career and some of the personal troubles he faced. It includes some unseen footage, various previously broadcasted interviews with Woods from different points in his career, and lots of golf.
The 15-time Major winner had his fair share of controversies as well as unprecedented success on the course. The series charts one of the greatest comebacks in recent sporting history. After four back surgeries and his career on the line, it took an incredible display for Tiger Woods to win his fifth Masters, 15th Major and prove all his critics wrong.
The series is entitled “Tiger” with 2 parts, four-hours, and is now in production which is anticipated to be shown on HBO and HBO Max. The documentary will premiere in January 2021. A specific release date is under wraps.
The HBO Sports presentation is produced by Jigsaw Productions in association with Our Time Projects. Alex Gibney will executively produce alongside Sam Pollard, Stacey Offman, Richard Perello, Armen Keteyian and Jeff Benedict. “Tiger” is directed by Matthew Heineman (“Cartel Land,” “A Private War”) and Matthew Hamachek (“Amanda Knox”).
