26-year-old singer and songwriter Justin Bieber dropped his new single “Holy” featuring Chance The Rapper, and Ryan Destiny. Actor Wilmer Valderrama appears in the accompanying music video.
The music video was directed by Colin Tilley, who recently directed the famous song ‘WAP’ with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
The song’s music video shows a dramatic scene of love, hope, and faith. The lyrics also add up to the story of the song comparing a romantic partner’s touch to a divine embrace. It also follows the on-screen relationship of the singer, who plays an oil plant worker, and Destiny, who’s a nurse, helped along by Valderrama, who plays a soldier arriving home.

The final scenes of the video show the characters around the dinner table, holding hands and praying.
Watch the official Music Video:
Chance The Rapper, who has referred to himself as a “Christian rapper”, called Bieber his “best friend” on his Instagram post earlier this week ahead of the track’s release.
Bieber and Chance have already collaborated on numerous tracks, including “No Brainer” in 2018 along with DJ Khaled and Quavo, “I’m The one” in 2017 and “Confident” in 2013.
Chance returns to music after releasing his debut studio album, “The Big Day,” in July 2019 after a handful of mixtapes. He canceled “The Big Tour” twice to spend more of his time with his daughters.
Chance also posted a snippet of the music video on Instagram and captioned it with a heartfelt message to his friends, supporters, and fans saying:
“Hey to all my friends, supporters and fans: I made one of my most important songs with one of my most supportive friends and I really want yall to hear it tonight when it drops. I know this record will make you feel something and I know that feeling is love. All I ask is that you tweet #holy today and tell someone about the song. We’ve been rocking together for some time and the fact that you’re reading this is an act of love in itself. Please blast #Holy this whole weekend and share it with as many people as you can. This is the beginning of a new era for all of us. God is love, peace.”
Bieber, for his part, circled his way back to spirituality. The former teen heartthrob described himself as a faithful Christian back in 2010, telling that God was “the reason I’m here”
Bieber’s most recent album, “Changes” (first album after almost five years) shifted from his bad-boy image and his descriptions of marriage sung in an R&B style.
The song “Holy” is Bieber’s first new track since his album “Changes.”
The music video also portrays the coronavirus pandemic situation and subsequent economic downturn: Bieber’s fictional boss is obligated to shut down the plant. “Due to the current and ongoing global situation,” the character says. “There is simply no way that we can keep afloat.”
The message of the music video is clear: “Holy” wants to thank God for love and silver linings.
