Netizens ‘cry for help’ after this photo of a bomb-sniffing dog appears online

For centuries, dogs have been used by the police and military in their efforts to serve and protect the public. So, it’s not surprising to see officers stationed in malls, hotels, and schools with these canine helpers.

Oftentimes, these dogs look well taken care of — with groomed hair and secure leashes.

But in this picture uploaded by Choi Co on Twitter and by Bj Antonio on Facebook, the dog is seen laying on the floor at the MRT Cubao Station drenched in a pool of his own urine.

Since the photo has been uploaded last August 8, a number of concerned netizens expressed their frustration at how this dog was being treated.

Their concerns have since been heard by the Department of Transportation and the situation is reportedly under investigation.

Even though it took a number of posts for this issue to be noticed, we’re relieved to know that the dog’s situation is being investigated by the proper authorities. Here’s to hoping the dog gets the proper care he needs!
