APCC Manila 2018 is All Ready, Set, Go

It’s all systems go for the biggest pop-culture event in the country as AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2018 brings in the noise to the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City on July 27 to 29 for a weekend of unforgettable sights, sounds, and experiences for fans from all over.

Ready at the vanguard is the event’s lineup of special celebrity guests, starting with Finn Jones (Marvel’s Iron Fist, Game of Thrones), Mike Colter (Marvel’s Luke Cage), Tye Sheridan (X-Men: Apocalypse, Ready Player One), and Osric Chau (Supernatural).

Set to follow close behind is a stellar roster of artists, consisting of Brian Muir (Star Wars, Alien, Indiana Jones), Simone Legno (tokidoki), Stanley Lau (Imaginary Friends Studios), Alex Sinclair (Batman, Astro City, WildCATs), Lan Medina (Fables, Punisher, Deadpool), Whilce Portacio (X-Men, X-Factor), Mike McKone (Exiles, Teen Titans, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four), Phil Noto (X-Force, Birds of Prey, BioShock), and the dynamic duo of Amanda Visell, and Michelle Valigura (Elf, The Simpsons, Kidrobot, Disneyland, Switcheroo).

Joining them is a lineup of CAGE cosplayers including Canvas Cosplay, Leon Chiro, Vera Chimera, and Yugana Senshi Uon.

Anime fans are in for a treat with producers Adi Shankar and Takashi Yoshizawa of Castlevania and Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, respectively, doing a special panel to discuss more about the said shows.

Go as well to some amazing exclusive Hollywood studio showcases with never-seen-before footages and screenings, while interacting with talents and celebrities.

“Undoubtedly APCC Manila 2018 is turning out to be the biggest of all the APCC editions so far as we have raised the bar with a great mix of talent from different fields and Asia’s first ever combined exclusive content showcase from Marvel, Disney, and Netflix. We are living up to our promise to Filipino fans of delivering more with every passing year,” said Abdulla Mahmood, Director Marketing & International Business Development, Al Ahli Holding Group.

For the first-time ever in Asia

APCC Manila is the first and only pop-culture convention in Asia to have exclusive content showcase by Marvel, Disney, and Netflix. During APCC Manila 2016, Hall M, a Marvel showcase, was launched to an overwhelming response; while last year, Hall N bowled the fans over, after being introduced as an exclusive Netflix content offering. This year Hall D, from entertainment giant Disney, will be launched to excite the fans and offer more once-in-a-lifetime experience for thousands of fans across the region.

Netflix will be hosting a special Marvel Panel with Mike Colter and series creator Cheo Hodari Coker and Mustafa Shakir aka Bushmaster! Additionally, Finn Jones and show creator M. Raven Metzer will be teasing season two of Iron Fist during the Hall N sessions.

To top the excitement off, the immersive Netflix booth will feature realistic sets of Iron Fist, Riverdale, and Stranger Things as part of its #NetflixAPCC experience.

Assemble for the legendary Hall M, which has been responsible for bombarding our geek palates with amazing content from Marvel’s lineup of movies, television series, games, and more—including world-exclusive previews of blockbusters such as Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange! No less than Marvel’s Vice President for Creative Development, Stephen Wacker, will host the showcase!

Not to be left behind is the world’s first-ever Hall D, a showcase by entertainment giant Disney, which promises a visual and auditory feast–from exclusive looks into upcoming features on Disney Animation Studios’ slate to a session with Disney legend Mark Henn, and much more at #DisneyAtAPCC!

Panel Session

For more pop culture experience, APCC Manila 2018 is bringing two special panel sessions to the main stage. Catch voice actors Apollo Abraham, Benjie Dorango, Bernie Malejana, and Jeff Utanes, as they talk about how they brought our childhood favorites to life in a special, nostalgic panel session. They’re the people who lent their voices to Pinoy favorite characters growing up.

Want to tell a story about all your APCC adventure? Learn how to tell yours in a way that resonates with the rest of cyberspace, with this informative panel featuring David Guison, Mari Jasmine, and Donny Pangilinan—three prominent storytellers in the online sphere!

With all these in store for everyone, #APCCPH2018 is definitely ready to give fans an awesome pop culture-filled weekend. Are you?
