Fans unhappy with Pikachu and Eevee’s new do in the latest Pokémon game

The trailer for the highly-anticipated Pokémon game has been released, and it is enough to pacify fans who’ve been clamoring for an update about the latest game.

The new trailer gives viewers a sneak peek into two new games for Nintendo Switch, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go Eevee!. The new games are a remake of Pokémon Yellow (released in 1998), but of course with added features, thereby making it a fusion of Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Go. The games allow you to choose between Pikachu and Eevee, but with essentially the same storyline. You can also do co-op playing, bond with your captured Pokémons, and select their genders. Aside from that, players can dress and change the hairstyles of their Pokémon.

Though the features generally sound pretty interesting, the last one didn’t quite sit well with some people, particularly about Pikachu and Eeve getting a bowl haircut. When Pokémon’s official Twitter account teased fans with Eevee’s and Pikachu’s haircuts, some people made it clear that they do not find it cute at all.

Some fans poked fun at the hairstyle by comparing it to Japanese actor Tsuyoshi Muro when he starred as a wizard in the Japanese comedy Yusha Yoshihiko.

But most fans think that the hairstyle didn’t suit Pikachu more than Eevee.

Others even called it the “breakup bangs” and expressed their worry that someone broke up with Pikachu, hence the weird choice of hairstyle.

We agree with this one, though. 🙃
