Manga artist Hiro Mashima unveils three exciting news for all otakus

After announcing that the final episode of the popular manga turned anime, Fairy Tail, Japanese creator thrills fans with more—yes, MORE—exciting news to watch out for.

Since the manga ended last July, fans of the series have been clamoring for a sequel. The 545th episode ended with the whole crew heading out to their next mission and readers cannot help but think that there must be a sequel in the works.

Well, no need to fret. Mashima just announced not just one, but three things to look forward to. And the first on his list is a Fairy Tail series spin-off that will also serve as its sequel.

According to his tweet, he will be coming up with two spin-offs. One will be a spin-off sequel to Fairy Tail; while the other will be a spin-off manga. No further details were given so we have to settle with this for now.

Five spin-off mangas based from Fairy Tail have already been released since 2014. Namely, Fairy Tail Zero by Hiro Mashima, Fairy Tail: Ice Trail by Yūsuke Shirato, Fairy Tail Blue Mistral by Rui Watanabe, Fairy Girls by Boku, and a three-part meta series, Fairy Tail Gaiden by Kyota Shibano.

Aside from the spin-offs, Mashima also announced that he is working on a new series that will come out in Boy Magazine No. 30 and will be available on June 27.

So I guess, it’s going to be a busy year for Mashima-sensei and a great year for all otakus!
