Gracenote and Chito Miranda team up for newest single ‘Bakit Ka Ganyan?’

Electro pop rock band Gracenote is currently offering Filipino music fans a dose of their unique sound and reaping achievements for their efforts to express themselves through their music.

Gracenote, which is composed of Eunice Jorge on Vocals, Keyboards, Violin, and Guitars, Jazz Jorge on Bass, EJ Pichay on Drums and Tatsi Jamnague on guitars recently made waves with their viral hit “Bakit Ganyan Ka?” a collaboration with Parokya Ni Edgar’s Chito Miranda that marries the artists’ distinct musical styles. “The idea was a combination of the bands’ styles, one which is very sincere, then we thought of further adding a special flavour which was the sound of the Rondalla that is not often used in songs today”, says Gracenote.

The collaboration’s announcement last July 2017 online created quite a buzz among fans of the two bands and its video reached 800,000 views in less than 24 hours after its initial release. The song was the most talked about collaboration online, garnering 28,000 shares on Facebook. It has also made its mark at the hit charts of Manila’s top FM stations, and has been labeled by When in Manila as the latest OPM love anthem.

The band’s Transparent album recently won the “Best Cover Art” at the 30th Annual Awit Awards 2017. The cover, which shows a re-imagination of television, creativity and pop culture and its artistic influence on the audience was conceptualized and executed by Darwin Hernandez and Nina Ledesma, as inspired by Gracenote’s heartfelt and relatable musical observations on modern relationships in their compositions and crowd-drawing performances.

Known as one of the versatile bands in the industry, Gracenote successfully rocked and rapped with Abra as they were recently chosen to be part of the Coke Studio PH campaign that brings together seven of the country’s music legends with seven of the country’s top upcoming artists. Their collaboration with Abra on Stargazer and their take on the street-stylings of his thought-provoking song Ilusyon proved their artistic prowess to the delight of their longtime fans and of Abra’s as well.

Gracenote is under the management of Soupstar Entertainment, and their string of successes has spurred them on to keep creating inspiring music that makes a mark on this generation.
