Riverbanks Center’s Dragon Boat Festival on Oct. 8

Riverbanks Center in Marikina City presents a regatta featuring 10 teams in a mixed 22 man standard competition on October 8, 2017 from 8am -12 noon at the center’s amphitheater.

The thrilling atmosphere will surely inspire the crowd as the paddlers’ boats slice their way through the river until they reach the finish line. Be awed by the masterful and graceful display of human power and synchrony as arms move as one to the rhythm of each boat’s drums.

From the long and narrow boat shapes to the prows painted with dragons’ heads to the drums which set the pace for the rowers and its vigorous action are major elements that make the dragon boat race a truly exciting event.

This action-packed day of racing on October 8 at Riverbanks Center’s Amphitheater will be officiated and organized by the Phil. Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) to ensure that the race is based on international standards.
