Mayday Parade to celebrate the 10th anniversary of debut record “A Lesson in Romantics” with Manila fans

Through the years, we’ve seen how a band like Mayday Parade has achieved something that only the most sincere and genuine acts are able to accomplish in their careers, and that is to forge a very strong and unbreakable connection with their fans no matter where they are in the world.

Looking back, it’s difficult to point out just how the long-time pop punk act went from being a local band giving away their own CDs in the parking lots of Warped Tour to being one of the scene’s most steadfast anchors, now with five studio albums and two EPs under their belt—all full of anthems permanently engraved in the hearts of their fans. It’s been a decade since the world felt like a better place because of Mayday Parade’s music and thankfully they are showing no signs of ever stopping.

“There’s a certain kind of enthusiasm and energy that the crowds here [in Manila] have that’s pretty much unmatched everywhere else you go,” said Mayday Parade frontman Derek Sanders about their Filipino fanbase back in October 2016 in an exclusive interview with PULP Magazine. They played an absolutely sold-out show in Samsung Hall, SM Aura last year in support of their most recent album Black Lines. Indeed, the Philippines is a country that loves Mayday Parade very much—just count how many times they have been here and how many times we’ve come back to their shows! It was their fifth time playing in the Philippines and everyone will agree that it was their most special Manila show yet.

It can be pretty hard to imagine how last year’s concert can possibly be outdone but with a very significant milestone coming up for the band, we know that they will be able to make our hearts melt again. As their acclaimed and well-loved debut album A Lesson In Romantics celebrates its tenth anniversary this year, Mayday Parade are gearing up to reunite with their Manila fans once more for a very special show fueled by nostalgia—PULP Live World proudly presents Mayday Parade Live In Manila: A Lesson In Romantics 10th Anniversary Tour!

As the clamor for Mayday Parade remains strong, their Filipino fans are in for yet another extraordinary concert—this time, we sing along to the band’s timeless anthems from the beloved album louder than we ever have before, from “Jamie All Over” all the way to “You Be The Anchor…”, with crowd-favorites “Jersey”, “Black Cat”, “When I Get Home You’re So Dead”, “I’d Hate To Be You…”, “Miserable Best”, and more in between.

We celebrate ten years of an album that has played a pivotal role for Mayday Parade, and we look back to our fondest memories of their music. Released in 2007 under Fearless Records, A Lesson In Romantics followed up the band’s EP Tales Told By Dead Friends and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, staying there for 46 weeks. For fans of the band since day one, this is truly a momentous show not to be missed.
