The story behind Andy Grammer’s ‘Fresh Eyes’ is the sweetest thing ever

Multi-platinum selling pop artist Andy Grammer just arrived here in Manila for the first time, and he was more than excited to talk about things like how he started as a street performer, his 10-month-old daughter, and his love for the NBA.

But what caught our attention during his press conference held in Marco Polo Manila is the romantic story behind his global smash hit single, “Fresh Eyes.” Grammer shared how the song is about that one time he saw his wife’s reflection in a bathroom mirror and how he was in a complete awe.

“We were on vacation,  I woke up before her, and I was in the bathroom where I could see her through the door. She woke up and the first thing she did was she started rapping Big Sean. I was like, ‘Who are you?! I didn’t even know you knew that [song]!’” Grammer said.

“The whole idea of ‘Fresh Eyes’ is kind of refinding love with someone that you’ve been in love with for a while. Me and my wife have dated for nine years now, and what’s most fun is when you find things about them that surprise you still.”

Absolute swoon. Make sure to be swept away again tonight for his special and intimate concert at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan.  Tickets to Andy Grammer – Live in Manila are still available via TicketWorld.com.ph or at the Music Museum box office.
