Have an awesome weekend at ABRICKADABRA LEGO Fan Festival

The Philippine LEGO Users Group or PhLUG, the country’s largest recognized LEGO fan group, will be once again holding its yearly LEGO fan event called Abrickadabra LEGO Fan Festival.

The event will be on May 26 and 27, Saturday and Sunday, at the 4th Floor and 5th Floor Event Halls of the Century City Mall along Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City. It will feature brick-built dioramas by the creative builders of PhLUG, a Brick Bazaar for LEGO collectors offering the best deals in exclusive and hard-to-find sets and many fun activities open to LEGO fans of all ages. The event will also bring to Manila, Malaysia-based Filipino fan designer, Lendy Tayag, the creative genius behind the upcoming LEGO Ideas Voltron set. Aside from his popular Voltron model, he will also be displaying his other equally amazing mech builds.

PhLUG’s founders, friends Randy Protacio and Stan Lao, first organized the event in 2015 with the goal of bringing together Filipino LEGO fans, like themselves, and to hopefully grow the local community. “Our dream was to have a venue where Filipinos, whether young or old, can experience LEGO together not only as a toy to play and collect but also as an alternative medium for artist builders and an effective teaching tool for design. Moreso, we wanted an engaging event that could be enjoyed by the entire family.” The good thing is, not only did the first Abrickadabra fan event fulfill the founders’ goals, it has also successfully achieved them for the past four years.

Early attendees with paid tickets will get the chance to receive a free LEGO polybag, while supplies last. Tickets will be at P150 per person while children 12 years old and below come in free. This year’s event sponsors are Big Bite Hotdog, CDO Bacon, Purefoods Nuggets, Coffee Labs, Conlins, Tamago Cases and Bases, Amber Golden Chain of Restaurants and Mom and Tina’s Bakery and Café in cooperation with Century City Mall. Manila Bulletin is the event’s media partner while InqPOP is this year’s online media partner.

So experience awesome brick fun for the whole family at Abrickadabra LEGO Fan Festival and help grow our Filipino community of LEGO fans, one brick at a time.
