Netflix has a new sci-fi thriller in store, starring two major Hollywood actors. Amanda Seyfried joins Clive Owen in “Anon,” which now has a trailer.
Directed by New Zealand filmmaker Andrew Niccol, the movie debuts on the streaming site May 4.
The movie is set in a futuristic world with no privacy or anonymity, where even private thoughts are recorded. As a result, crime has been virtually wiped out.
Against this backdrop, Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) is a detective investigating a series of unsolved murders. His case leads him to meet “The Girl” (Amanda Seyfried), a woman with no identity, no history and no record of existence. This leads Sal to realize that rather than the end of crime, this could be the beginning.
No stranger to futuristic worlds, Andrew Niccol previously directed 1997 movie “Gattaca”, as well as “Lord of War” (2005) and “In Time” (2011).
