PUP's MarkFest 2018

It is a yearly tradition to PUP Manila’s Marketing Management students to conduct an academic seminar that will be educational, fun, and interactive. It is a legacy that will create a mark to the young and upcoming fellow marketing students of the university. Every member of the organization played a role in making this event work.

Last February 26, 2018, the most awaited seminar of this batch, MarkFest 2018: Festive Convergence in the Influential Age has marked the history. A total of 600 marketing students from PUP and other universities attended the event at the Bulwagang Balagtas. It was organized by Alti2De Productions (BSBA-MM 4-2D). MarkFest 2018 is a marketing seminar in a MusicFest-theme that aimed to give Marketing Management students from PUP and other universities a seminar that will discuss about the latest trends in marketing such as Content, Digital, and Viral Marketing.

​The program started with fun-filled contests that every marketistas enjoyed and these are follows; Quaker Good Start (drinking-game challenge), Palm Diner (burger eating contest) and Dig Deep Ice Cream (ice cream eating challenge).

A total of 4 high-calibre speakers have shared their knowledge and experiences during the event.

Mr. Inyi Ymura – Digital Head Director of MyPhone discussed about the Content Marketing techniques of Myphone. He also explained the current status of MyPhone in the market and the rebranding that their team launched.

Mr. Mark Joseph Panganiban – a Business Administration Graduate at Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas. Mr. Panganiban is a Certified E-Commerce professional and Head of Digital Business at Air21. Moreover, he is the Executive Director at Digital Commerce – Association of the Philippines. He talked about digital marketing trends that is happening now in Philippine landscape. He pointed out that Digital Marketing is dominating now, making it the big thing now for every brands or businesses.

Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas – co-founder of TAG Media and Public Relations. Blogging 101 was the topic that Engr Nicolas discussed in the conference. She discussed how blogging can be a source of income, its importance and its relevance. Blogging have been present years before, it continuously evolves and changes and she recommends that every marketing practitioner should take a look on the capability of this platform.

Last is but not the least is Mr. Ramon Chito Acot – co-owner and Chief Marketing Officer of Trendstatic Corporation. He is the Managing Director of Total Flow Philippines and he is also an entrepreneur and owner of Bonggang Bumbong (Food Business). He talked about Viral Marketing that is one of thew helpful keys in establishing brand awareness.

Aside from the talks that were mentioned above, Palm Diner, Dig Deep Ice Cream, AshokTech, and Sun Life Financial have been given a special segment which have been useful in educating the students about their respective brands.

To further intensify the event, performers such as Kudos Represent – a dancing group consisting of 3 members gave their best moves to Bruno Mars’ Finesse. Present too was Dysania – a singing group/band that performed a rendition of Havana and Despacito.

Before the event wrapped up, Alti2De Productions recognized all online contest winners. Mr. Alex Sebastian was the winner to Ashok’s Online Contest and was given a loot bag filled and a Niall Horan concert ticket. Mr. Joshua Medina was also a winner and he received not only a loot bag but also a Katy Perry concert ticket.

MarkFest Best Dressed was also part of contest. MarkFest Best Dressed male category was Rupert Eidrial Cave and MarkFest Best Dressed female category was Cristina Flores. They took home amazing prizes and freebies from the event’s generous partners.

Asst. Prof. Annlyn Ortiz – seminar adviser of Alti2De Productions, graced the event and recognized everyone’s effort in making the event a success.
