Justice League grosses a whopping P287.54M in PH opening weekend

Warner Bros. Pictures’ epic superhero film Justice League proved its might at the Philippine box office, earning a final opening weekend total of more than P287.54M across 772 screens and becoming the #1 release in the country.

The big-screen team-up unites Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Superman, and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman with a new generation of big-screen super heroes: Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg, and Ezra Miller’s The Flash.

Justice League broke several records with this blockbuster opening, namely: All-Time Biggest November Opening Weekend (Industry-Wide), Biggest Warner Bros. Opening Weekend (All-Time), 2nd Biggest Opening Weekend for 2017 (Industry-Wide), and 2nd Biggest Saturday gross in history.

In making the announcement, Warner Bros. Philippines General Manager Francis Soliven stated, “The first-ever Justice League movie was nothing short of an event, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see longtime fans and newcomers to the DC universe alike flocking to cinemas to come along for the ride. These phenomenal results are a testament to the enduring power of these icons and the crowd-pleasing team adventure the filmmakers and their talented cast have delivered, which promises to thrill, entertain and engage audiences well into the season.”

The biggest gross receipts were contributed by SM Mall of Asia (P11.7M), SM Megamall (P11.5M) and SM North EDSA (P11.06-M).
