Leadership is not for the faint of heart

The installed administration has brought with it a brand new set of leaders. With a hope of a coming change, these leaders have taken oath to put an end to what destroys the society, and rebuild our nation bottom-up. This promising claim to bring forth change has sparked and ignited the wills of many to be carpenters of the new home being forged. Citizens have evidently supported this vision of a country-revamp.

With the willingness and courage to challenge the old system, go against the norms of corruption, and face the contagious scurries of underdevelopment, leaders from high and low have emerged to join the picture; people who have finally braved the call to start being the change this country needs.

Such people are the top 20 young leaders who have undergone rigorous screening procedures to test if they are ready to take the challenge and make a difference. The process included a paper screening of personal and leadership essays which aimed to scrutinize their visions for their community and their passion to forward their individual and collective advocacy. An acceptance interview was set for the qualified applicants. Making up the twenty are students from different fields- Architecture, Biology, Medical Technology, Nursing, Communication Arts, Political Science, International Studies, Internal Auditing, and Business Management.

This group of young leaders has proven their brave eagerness to be part of an initiative geared towards bridging the gap between talented youth leaders and communities.

Following the success of the continued three phases of The LEAD Project initiative is The LEADERS CONGRESS 2016. A three-day boot camp aimed to empower, develop, and enhance the leadership skills of the chosen youth leaders to create inclusive and sustainable community projects which are hoped to impact chosen communities.

Focusing on advocacy and project development, the phase is programmed to conduct plenary sessions, in-depth discussions and workshops to fully maximize efforts on developing the youth leaders. Speakers with expertise from different fields are expected to share their knowledge and experiences to aid the top 20 young leaders in reach their maximum potentials.

The event is expected to take place on July 15-17, 2016 at The Lord’s Garden Retreat House and Camp Site, Calamba, Laguna.

Change is coming, and leaders brave enough to face the challenge of making the difference are on the front lines; leaders without the faint of heart. ADVT.
