BPO Classics opens new season on May 1

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Twenty-nine different companies from the country’s business process outsourcing (BPO) industry will participate and vie for the top prize of the 2016 BPO Classics that will commence on May 1.

BPO Classics is the Philippines’ biggest BPO sports and lifestyle tournament that caters to both large and small BPO companies.

Under the umbrella of One Unite Sports and Events Inc., BPO Classics started with a basketball league in 2012 that paraded 15 outstanding teams.

The year after, BPO Classics made its assertive expansion by inviting 11 companies to produce a 12-squad tournament. In the same season, BPO Classics made a bold step in creating two separate divisions to even the playing field of competition. With its aim to provide a channel where athletes and sports enthusiasts can come together to fulfill an active lifestyle and promote camaraderie amongst each other, BPO Classics ventured into the sport of volleyball in 2015.

As BPO Classics will open shop once again on May 1, league commissioner Jensen Ilagan did mince words in expressing his exuberance about the upcoming season. “It is truly an honor and humbling at the same time to see BPO Classics grow. We started with only 15 teams, and now participation has doubled. We are very proud that we are able to continuously provide a fun-filled sporting event wherein both large and small BPO companies can come together and interact through sports,” he said.
