Clara Benin to launch her latest EP “Riverchild” at SOMA Green Sun

Screen Shot 2015-11-25 at 20.33.32

Clara Benin is an independent singer-songwriter from Bacolod City. Now based in Manila, she is taking up a music business course at MINT College to learn the business side of the music industry and apply it to her career.

She describes her music as “Coffee Shop Music,”  a unique sound combined from her indie, folk, and acoustic alternative influences topped with her distinct brand of pop sensibility. Clara Benin is a bit of everything:  a composer, lyricist, vocalist, and instrumentalist. If you like the music of Kira Grannis, Joni Mitchell, and Ed Sheeran, you’ll find her music right up your alley. And if you are a music fan or a musician yourself, Clara Benin’s music will definitely be a great addition to your playlist.

River Child is Clara Benin’s thesis project composed of 5 tracks: 4 original songs and 1 cover.

This EP project also serves as an advocacy campaign for bringing children to school. Proceeds will go to the Tapulanga Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization working to uplift the lives of those who were born with less through educational scholarships and healthcare assistance.

River Child is set to be released this November as part of an event launched with the help of The Upward Project, a community of artists passionate about sharing the Gospel message of hope through their creative platforms.

FINAL POSTER

The event will be a night of music, art, and poetry where the artists can share their heart for children with the message of how we should be more like children. River Child EPs will be sold during the event and proceeds will go to The Tapulanga Foundation. There will also be a booth where people can give toys/books/clothes to donate to the children of the foundation.

The event will be held in SOMA Green Sun located in 2285 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati City on November 26, Thursday. The expected audience would primarily be comprised of the youth, ages 10 to 20 years old. The event will run from 6pm to 9pm.

The goal is for the audience to capture and experience the essence of being childlike, no matter how old or young you are. This will definitely be a great pre-Christmas celebration event perfect for the entire family.
