ELLIE GOULDING LAUNCHES HALCYON DAYS WITH HER FIERY NEW SINGLE “BURN”

Silken-voiced pop superstar ELLIE GOULDING dropped her latest single “Burn” – the first from the upcoming re-release of her 2012 album Halcyon – this year.  With an undeniable rhythm and Goulding’s distinctively haunting-yet-beautiful vocals, “Burn” is not to be overlooked.

Co-written by Goulding, “Burn” has the distinction of being the songstress’ first single to reach the #1 position in the UK Singles charts. According to Goulding, “it was always [her] dream to have a UK number one single, and it’s been a long time coming.” Selling more than 117,000 records in its first week, the song bested efforts by the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Lana Del Ray to achieve the top spot in the UK. “Burn” also cracked the top ten in eight other countries, including Australia, Ireland, Germany and Scotland, where it reached #1. The single was produced by One Republic’s Ryan Tedder.

“Burn” is the first single to be released from Halcyon Days, a reissued edition of her successful sophomore record Halcyon packed with added bonus tracks. Halcyon Days is scheduled for a late-August release – stay tuned for the latest from ELLIE GOULDING.

ELLIE GOULDING exploded onto the scene in 2010 with her debut album Lights, which debuted at #1 in the UK and included popular tracks such as singles “Starry Eyed” and “The Writer”. The album was re-released later that year under the title Bright Lights, with additional tracks including the hit single “Lights”, which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her cover of Elton John’s “Your Song”, which claimed #2 on the UK Singles charts. In 2011, she had the privilege of performing her cover of “Your Song” during the royal wedding of Prince William and Katie Middleton. Her follow-up to Lights, 2012’s Halcyon, charted at #2 in the UK and #9 on the Billboard 200. Singles from the album included “Anything Can Happen” and her acclaimed Calvin Harris collaboration, “I Need Your Love”.

“HALCYON” is now available in CDs and for download via Smart Music and iTunes. Brought to you by MCA Music, in collaboration with LINE.
